| Moozhiyar dam is a part of Kakkad Hydro Electric Project and is located in Pathanamthitta District of Kerala State. The water required for the project is drawn from Moozhiyar reservoir created by constructing a dam across Moozhiyar stream located downstream of the tailrace of Sabarigiri HEP. The tail water of Sabarigiri HEP is stored in Moozhiyar reservoir from where the water is diverted to the power station at Kakkad, located on the left bank of Kakkad Ar. There is also a diversion dam across Veluthode stream, a tributary of Kakkad Ar, which diverts water to the water conductor system from Moozhiyar reservoir to Kakkad Power Station. |
